Most smokers stop in a single session, but a free follow-up is available within 3 months in the event that you have a problem. Our Cheltenham hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.
Our fee covers three treatments, because we find this is more than enough for most patients. There are three years of our AfterCare support too.

THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK
Here’s a snippet from the book. There are lots of pages you can read for free. Do this before attending our Cheltenham hypnotherapist or acupuncturist.
….. But you, remember, are no longer afraid. You have conquered tobacco and you have conquered your fear of it. Therefore, you will be pleased to know, even the withdrawal symptoms are going to be lessened; in fact, whilst I can’t promise, you might not even have any. How do I know this is true? It’s simple to prove. A good hypnotherapist can convince the brain not to feel withdrawal symptoms when you stop smoking. It’s mind over matter, and it works. Therefore, if you have come this far with this Handbook and you are in control, that is to some extent like having hypnotherapy. You have a mind and it doesn’t matter, or something like that.
So far so good, but it’s all about the psychology, so what can you do in practical ways to make the next bit easier?
Do your stress management exercises from Project 7.
Make the dietary changes from Tutorial 10, including the business with tomatoes.
Buy some herbal cigarettes and use them the way I explain in Project 5.
Ensure your fluid intake is as high as possible.
Put yourself on a detox regime of vitamin C.
Exercise as much as you feel comfortable with, preferably outdoors, but if you feel tired give in and rest.
A SHORT CASE HISTORY
From our Cheltenham acupuncture branch
James had seen a Cheltenham hypnotist before calling us. Surprisingly, he wanted to ask about seeing our own hypnotist. You would expect us to be surprised, because if he has failed with it why would he want to try hypnotherapy again?
Having failed with any given method does not always rule it out, but it does usually. What we needed to do was to look at why this failure had happened. Was it just that the hypnotherapist he had seen had got it wrong, or was James not suited for the therapy? The information James gave us was not conclusive, and in the end we decided it might have been a bit of both. So we suggested he see our Cheltenham acupuncturist instead, and he accepted our rationale for this.
It can be a problem for us when a smoker calls about a particular therapy and we have to advise against it. More often than not it’s that they want hypnotherapy and we have to advise against it. It’s not easy to explain why it might not be the right therapy, and it is completely about the individual. In James’s case, was it because we felt acupuncture was the right therapy, or was it more because hypnotherapy wasn’t? Well, if we don’t have a therapy that is going to suit a smoker we will say so. That is our responsibility. Having said that, there is almost no-one who won’t stop smoking with either hypnotherapy or acupuncture, so it is rare that we have to turn anyone away. James came to our Cheltenham acupuncture service, and in fact he did very well indeed.
Before seeing him, we gave our Cheltenham acupuncturist a full run-down of the conversation we had had with James. Knowing the patient’s background is really helpful. This is a very important part of our work. We are NOT a referral service. Every smoker is seen by a Partner therapist as a member of our team, and the teamwork goes on until the patient has stopped smoking, and for long after if needed. There are of course not a few acupuncturists in Cheltenham, but there is only one who works in this way.
Had James been suitable for another session of hypnotherapy, we do of course have a Cheltenham hypnotherapist as well. We have both therapies so we can be quite sure we are giving the correct, unbiased advise to every smoker. That was what James got – the right advice, the right therapy and the right therapist. And all of this is why he successfully stopped smoking.
