THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK
Here’s a snippet from the book. There are lots of pages you can read for free. We suggest you do this before you come to our Folkestone hypnotist.
You smoked herbal cigarettes: How they work
They are the opposite of NRPs. Nicotine replacement products give you nicotine without having to smoke for it, so they are a habit-breaking tool. Herbal cigarettes give you smoking without having to take nicotine at the same time, so their benefit is that they support you psychologically while you break the addiction to nicotine. For this reason, we put herbal cigarettes and NRPs much on a par in terms of effectiveness.
When people fail to stop smoking with herbal cigarettes, that is largely because they don’t know what they’re for and do it all wrong which, if you remember, I said right at the beginning is the main reason people fail generally.
You found them too unpleasant to smoke. You thought they were alright but other people disliked the smell. They helped you to stop for a while
If you couldn’t get on with one flavour, try another. The menthol, even if you don’t normally smoke menthol, seems to be the easiest to smoke. If other people didn’t like the smell, who cares?
Now I’ll tell you how to use them. First, get down to the Addiction Threshold with the help of the Handbook. Now, if you roll your own, mix some Honeyrose herbal rolling mixture with your tobacco. Get used to the taste, and when you’re ready switch to the herbal mixture alone. At this point you will be breaking the addiction to nicotine but because you are ‘smoking’ your brain will try to believe it doesn’t matter. It’s not foolproof, but it’s definitely worth a try.
If you smoke ready-mades, get down to the Addiction Threshold, then try the Smoke-Free Day in Project 9, and then follow the instructions in Project 10.
In fact herbal cigarettes can be used to support any number of methods for stopping smoking. Say you have had hypnotherapy and you are smoking one or two cigarettes a day. Well, try switching these to herbals. A lot of people on NRPs still smoke, but actually this is an ideal situation in which to smoke herbals, because if you are getting nicotine from the NRP you shouldn’t need tobacco – you just want the comfort of smoking something.
