We hope to bring AM to London by the end of 2017.

We have two Highgate hypnotherapists: Michael Bryant and Trish Marin

When you have seen our Highgate hypnotherapist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling.

Highgate Hypnotherapy AfterCare

This gives three years of support. A free second session with our Highgate hypnotist is available if you have any problem (limited to 3 months). We advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your session. We will discuss how it went, how you are getting on, and what else, if anything, we need to do.

From our Highgate hypnotherapy branch

One of the most common things people say to us is that the reason they can’t stop smoking is the habit. This is why they believe a hypnotist can help them. So are they right? First, about habit being their problem, and second about whether hypnotherapy can help if it is. And what about whether hypnotherapy can help them if it isn’t?

Let’s look at the first question. Malcolm called to ask us whether, since habit was his primary problem, he could come to see our Highgate hypnotherapist. Well, before we could offer him an appointment we needed to ascertain why he couldn’t stop smoking. You can’t solve a problem until you know what the problem is. Malcolm’s answer to this question was that he couldn’t break the habit of smoking. Could hypnotherapy help? Yes, we said, of course it could help him, if that was really the problem.

But was it? To an extent, it’s an issue for all smokers. Malcolm always smoked at certain times, and with certain triggers. First thing in the morning, after work, before bed, after a meal, and so on. We had to agree that he was in the habit of smoking at those times, and as a result of those triggers. But were they the actual issues our Highgate hypnotist needed to resolve for him?

Was Malcolm’s first cigarette of the day because of the habit? No, it never is. The first one was very much to give him nicotine after a night without smoking. And this is interesting, because he was in the habit of smoking then but the habit wasn’t what made him smoke. It’s important to understand the difference. Malcolm lit that first one to get the drug, not just because that was what he always did. But because he always did it it seemed like a habit. We explained this to him before he got as far as our hypnotherapist, so by that time he understood what he was trying to resolve. This first smoke of the day had a different trigger from what he always believed. Trying to change that particular habit was never going to help him to stop smoking. And the same applied to every other cigarette he smoked. We were able to show him that not one of them was he smoking just because he always did. Every single one had a different trigger from what he had always believed.

Malcolm had called two other Highgate hypnotists before he found us, but neither had explained these issues. We’re not saying they didn’t know them themselves. We are saying that if the client didn’t understand them there was perhaps less chance he would have succeeded the way he did.

Here is a tiny taster:

Fascinating Fact Number 5

Quite a few cannabis smokers can’t or won’t stop using it not because they are addicted to the cannabis but because they roll their joints with tobacco and they have become addicted to nicotine.

When they come to stop smoking they will need to choose whether to continue smoking cannabis or not. If they do want to, they will either have to smoke it some other way, or to roll a joint buy some Honeyrose herbal smoking mixture (from a health food shop) and use that instead of tobacco. And then they must never accept a joint someone else has rolled but always carry the smoking mixture with them.

When you call us about hypnosis, or complete the enquiry form, we will contact you to discuss whether hypnotherapy is what you need. Once we are sure, we will have our Highgate hypnotist phone you. He is highly qualified, of course, but you will still want to see if you like him. Hypnotherapy is great, which is why we provide it, but your success will to some extent depend on your relationship with the hypnotherapist you see.

Highgate hypnosis might not be what you’re looking for to stop smoking. If you want to take pharmaceutical products, we suggest you ask your GP.. You can also visit the NHS Smokefree website here. If you still fail to stop, call us or complete the form to see our Highgate hypnotist.
