Most clients stop in a single session, but a free follow-up is provided within three months in the event that you have a problem. Our Basildon hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.

Your nearest service at present is our Chelmsford acupuncture branch. We hope, though, to have a Southend acupuncture branch soon.

We hope to bring AM to Essex by the end of 2017.

Our hypnotist in Basildon is Claire Ivey. Claire will be happy to answer any questions you have before making a booking.

When you have seen our Basildon hypnotherapist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling..

Basildon Hypnotherapy AfterCare

This gives three years of support. We strongly advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your session. We will talk through how the session went, how you feel right now, and what, if anything, else we need to do. If you need a follow-up session with our Basildon hypnotist, we will offer this, within three months.

Here is a very small taster:

Because I’m too young for it to matter

The median age for smokers in our clinics is mid-40s. It takes, apparently, this long for the average smoker to twig to what is happening to them. If young people understood, they wouldn’t start smoking in the first place. It’s as if once they start they are committed to losing, say, twenty years to tobacco.

The sad result is that when they get to 40 or so they find it such a struggle to stop. I very rarely meet a smoker in their 40s who doesn’t regret starting. The logic, though, is that if smoking is bad for you, at the age of 20, or even 30, you are strong enough to get away with it. It is, of course, quite idiotic, because what the thirty-year-old smoker doesn’t see is first the damage they have done because it is after all inside them, and second the difficulties they are storing up with stopping when they are older. Saying you’re too young to stop smoking is an oxymoron.

From our Basildon hypnotherapy branch

Jack (not his real name) rang to ask if our service is confidential. It is, but we knew why he was asking. It’s a question we get asked from time to time. Jack was smoking cannabis. It seems a lot of people are still shy about admitting this. You wouldn’t think anyone would be coy about it these days.

Jack wanted to come to our Basildon hypnosis service, and when we questioned him there was some confusion over what exactly he was smoking. He overcame his reluctance to talk about the joints, enough for us to learn what we needed to know. Most clients are mixing cannabis with tobacco, and this is often why they become addicted to nicotine. At the very least the nicotine addiction has become the problem when they want to come off the cannabis. Most users want to quit both substances, although a few just want to come off tobacco. In those cases, we give the client advice on using cannabis without tobacco.

Before Jack came to see our Basildon hypnotist, he explained that he wanted to come off both substances. In this situation, we treat the client like any other smoker. This is partly because of the addictive nature of tobacco, but also because hypnotherapy is concerned only with the fact that you smoke.

Like a lot of users, Jack hadn’t fully realised the extent to which his problem was no different from any other smoker. The issue wasn’t cannabis, it was smoking. Whilst it is true that some users become dependent on cannabis, this is a complex issue, and it doesn’t apply to most users.

Our Basildon hypnotist checked this out, and Jack turned out to be in this category. He felt dependent on his joints, but that dependence was actually on the tobacco in them. We proved this by bringing him off smoking. He didn’t crave cannabis. He didn’t crave anything.

There is a bit more to this story. Once he stopped smoking and learned that the cannabis was no problem, Jack started to address a number of other issues. What came out of this was that the cannabis had been masking a number of problems that he never faced up to. Our Basildon hypnotherapist was then able to help him, with some further sessions, to address the issues that not smoking joints had made him face up to.

When you call us about hypnosis, or complete the enquiry form, we will contact you to discuss whether hypnotherapy is what you need. Once we are sure, we will have our Basildon hypnotist phone you. She is highly qualified, of course, but you will still want to see if you like her. Hypnotherapy is great, which is why we provide it, but your success will to some extent depend on your relationship with the hypnotherapist you see.

If you’re not looking for a Basildon hypnosis service, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the NHS Basildon and Brentwood website here.
