HOW OUR SCARBOROUGH ACUPUNCTURE WORKS

Every regular smoker is addicted to nicotine. Acupuncture gives you control over your addiction, because without the physical trigger the psychological dependence on smoking quickly goes. In simple terms, acupuncture relieves pain and stress. In smoking cessation, it relieves the pain and stress of withdrawal from nicotine, putting you in complete control.

We use two forms of acupuncture – body and ear. The first is done using traditional acupuncture needles. The second involves small devices attached with tape on your ear. Inbetween treatments you can give yourself acupuncture as you go through each day. This means you can relieve craving as it occurs, so you are always in control.

Our Scarborough acupuncturist will provide three treatments, about a week apart. Most patients find their smoking reduces dramatically after the first treatment, and this will give you a real help in believing you can succeed. A major benefit of the 3-treatment programme is that it takes all the stress out of believing you have to stop smoking in one go. People find this gradual approach a great help.

You will probably find you stop completely after your second treatment. Many patients like to come for the third because they enjoy the experience, but if you prefer our Scarborough acupuncturist can hold the third treatment over for you for a while in case you need it later.
