NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP SMOKING
Sometimes, people come to us not to stop smoking but for smoking reduction. It’s a choice they make, and we publish a book on reduction. ‘No, You Don’t Have to Stop Smoking’ will be of interest even if you do want to stop completely. Why not take a look at it before you visit our Worcester hypnosis branch. Here is a taster to get you started.
….. Now, learning to smoke actually means doing something very specific in medical terms. It means teaching your immune system to stop telling you that tobacco smoke is poisonous. It’s a good trick and it’s incredibly dangerous, because your immune system being unable to tell you that it’s poisonous doesn’t stop it being poisonous. It’s like your nerves being disconnected in your hand so you don’t feel the heat when you burn it.
When you learned to smoke, all you did was to stop your body protecting itself from being poisoned by tobacco. That’s why tobacco kills, because it has carte blanche to poison you without you knowing it.
The immune system does something very strange when it is forced to accept poisons. It goes into reverse. If you insist on poisoning yourself, your immune system thinks that’s what you want to do and it says alright, if you insist, and throws itself completely into reverse mode and now instead of trying to protect you from poisoning yourself it tries to protect you from stopping.
