Most clients stop in a single session, though a free follow-up is provided within three months in the event that you have a problem. Our Woking hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.
Our fee will provide you with three treatments, although you might find you don’t need them all. Three years of AfterCare is also included.

A SHORT CASE HISTORY

The issue Lorraine had was that she confused habit and association. Is association the same as habit? Perhaps no-one has ever even discussed association with you. But we did, before Lorraine got to the stage of seeing our Woking hypnotherapist.
To the layman the two issues are much the same, but in our work we do need to be specific about the words we use. If we had simply accepted what Lorraine told us we would not have been helping her to address the actual reasons she couldn’t stop smoking. A hypnotherapist who doesn’t do that is unlikely to be of much help.
For our Woking hypnotist to be able to address Lorraine’s problems, we needed her to understand them first. In short, it wasn’t essential for her to understand everything, but it would help if she did.
Habit is something you do without thinking. Lorraine was in the habit of smoking, and that habit was often connected to certain triggers. But we said often, not always. The triggers were in fact another issue. What our Woking hypnotherapist had to do was to tease out of the client what her triggers were. This way, she could tailor the hypnotherapy to address them. In fact they were pretty much the usual ones. Most smokers will be triggered by, say, a cup of tea or coffee, and obviously by alcoholic drinks. Lorraine’s triggers also included getting into her car after work, and another was after she had put her children to bed. This one is quite common.
Once she had a list of Lorraine’s triggers, our Woking hypnotist was able to address each one separately within the session. This is in fact what hypnotherapy is so good at. Following the session, the triggers were no longer triggers at all.

….. Another example might be helpful? Say you are really stressed at work, and smoking gives you a chance to get out of the office and take a cigarette break. And then after work you reward yourself for getting through the day by going out with your friends for a drink, but they smoke and that undoes your resolve not to. You’ve got two interconnected issues here, so you need to separate them.
Resolving the problem at work will remove the reason why you smoke during the day, or at least one of the reasons. On the other hand, finding some other way of de-stressing at the end of the work day will resolve the second problem. Or you could ask your friends for their support and still go with them but give them permission to beat you about the head if you ask them for a cigarette.
The purpose of this exercise it to disentangle the web of reasons you can’t stop smoking so that you deal with each one separately and eliminate it. This will leave you with the big one, whatever it might be. Only you can work out what it is, but I promise you I know from long experience with thousands of smokers there is usually one main reason why they have failed to stop. If every smoker analysed their smoking in this way, they would, all of them, have a much better chance of stopping.
