THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK

Before seeing our Gainsborough hypnotherapist, you might like to read the free sample pages on our website.
Here is a very small taster:

….. Most youngsters try smoking but a lot of them don’t persist with it. They don’t like the first cigarette and they just decide not to bother. It does, after all, make a lot of sense. Why would you persist with something you don’t like? Actually, it’s not a rhetorical question. Why do some young people persist with something they don’t like? It can, surely, only be because of some need to conform to what other people are doing. And people who need to conform are, by definition, less sure of themselves than people who don’t. In other words, smoking, like all drug taking, targets the weak.

That’s not a criticism of you. I fell for it too. But it does point to a fact that you must consider when you come to stopping smoking. Drugs are about control. The pusher needs to control you, because it’s how they make their profit. You fell for it when you tried the first cigarette, and you fell for it again when you persisted in smoking even when the experience wasn’t a good one. The tobacco companies are depending on you being weak now. Are you going to give in to that abuse again?
