BECOMING AN AUTHORISED NATIONAL STOP SMOKING CENTRES THERAPIST

For 35 years at National Stop Smoking Centres we have provided specialist therapy for smoking cessation. We are now no longer going to be doing that, but such is our reputation that smokers throughout the UK are looking to us for help with stopping. We are therefore establishing a facility for smokers to find good hypnotherapists or acupuncturists whose expertise and experience is in keeping with our own long-standing reputation.

To take part in this scheme you will need to show a minimum of three years in practice, that you have a special interest in smoking cessation, that you belong to a reputable professional body (the British Acupuncture Council for acupuncturists, a recognised hypnotherapy society if you are a hypnotherapist), and that you charge a fee that makes your service accessible to most people.

We appoint just one hypnotherapist and one acupuncturist in each location, so this is not a directory of therapists. It puts you, and only you, on page one of online searches in your area.

THE CATCHMENT AREA SCHEME

Our long experience shows that many smokers will search online for a therapist in their small local town, before searching in the nearest large town or area. For this reason, if your practice is, for example, in Bristol, you can opt to take the website page for Weston-super-Mare. If you are in Glasgow you can promote your practice on the page for Paisley. If you practise in Solihull you might like to reach smokers looking in Yardley Wood. In London, your practice in Finchley could get found by smokers searching in Muswell Hill. You get the picture. We call these ‘catchment area pages’.

Each catchment area page £1.25 a month

If you would like to display our logo on your website or other promotional material, to show you are a National Stop Smoking Centres Authorised Therapist, this is available at £1.25 a month.

The charge is payable by standing order quarterly in advance. There is no contract and you may add or take off locations, or drop out of the scheme, without notice. The income will support the maintenance and further development of our website. We are not a profit-making concern, so we cannot automatically check you have paid. We are operating under the ‘honesty box’ principle. We will from time to time check, but meanwhile if you want to drop out do please let us know, because we will have other therapists waiting to take your page on the website.

Search online for ‘stop smoking hypnotherapy in (your location)‘. If we already have a website page for that location, check if we are ranked on the first page. If not, it is probably because we don’t yet have a page for that location. You can check this by searching the Therapist Finder. If we don’t yet have a page for that location, ask us to create one for you, but please bear in mind it may take a little while for search engines to rank a new page.

Every location that has been taken by a therapist has that therapist’s name in the heading. If there is no name, this means that page is available for you.

Bear in mind that on a page that currently has no therapist on it we have entered some basic information. When you take a page, we will add:

Your name (and photograph if you want)

Your contact details

A link to your website

The fee you charge, and what you provide for that.

Your credentials (length of experience, memberships, and anything you want us to show.
