NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP SMOKING
Sometimes, people come to us not to stop smoking but for smoking reduction. It’s a choice they make, and we publish a book on reduction. ‘No, You Don’t Have to Stop Smoking’ will be of interest even if you do want to stop completely. Why not take a look at it before you visit our Dewsbury hypnotist. Here is a taster to get you started.
You might guess I am going to talk here about alcoholic drinks, but I’m not. From a getting drunk and losing control and smoking point of view, alcohol matters, but I’m concerned here with the nutritional effect of drinks, so I’m focusing here on tea, coffee and cola drinks.
One of the biggest problems with drinks is that they contain sugar, either because because someone put it there before you or you went and put it in yourself, and sugar creates the problems for smokers I’ve just been talking about above. (By the way, many people buy soft drinks with artificial sweetener thinking this is better, but sorry but it’s not, first because real or artificial doesn’t make the difference you think it does and you can end up with diabetes and second because artificial sweeteners are themselves big health risks, bigger than you have been told.)
Tea, coffee and cola drinks all contain addictive substances, and it is an interesting fact (well I think so, anyway) that people who smoke tend to drink more of these things. One reason is simple – smoking makes your mouth dry so you tend to drink more simply to counteract this effect and since many people drink more tea and coffee than they do water these inks you might turn to when you smoke. Many smokers are heavy tea and coffee drinkers, and a small number drink a lot of soft drinks. Overdosing on soft drinks happens easily. They are sweet, they are fizzy, and they are refreshing. (They are also bad for you, which you might also want to consider.) I have seen smokers on two litres of cola a day, who simply stop drinking it completely the moment they stop smoking.
