NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP SMOKING

Sometimes, people come to us not to stop smoking but for smoking reduction. It’s a choice they make, and we publish a book on reduction. ‘No, You Don’t Have to Stop Smoking’ will be of interest even if you do want to stop completely. Why not take a look at it before you visit our Beverley hypnosis branch. Here is a taster to get you started.

The Addiction Threshold …

The human body needs to see nicotine about four times a day to avoid going into withdrawal. People who smoke very lightly tend to do so spread over the day, for this reason (without of course realising what they are doing). This is because nicotine is lost very quickly and must be replaced every few hours. You might be wondering how you lose nicotine, since I mention it.

Well, in a number of ways, the first one being the way you took it in, through the mouth. You know you can see tobacco smoke coming out of your mouth when you smoke. That smoke contains nicotine. After you put the cigarette out the nicotine continues to come out of your mouth with each breath, even if you can no longer see smoke.

The second most important way you lose it is through the skin. Your skin is your largest cleansing organ. Every pore can ooze nicotine (and the other toxins in tobacco, which is why you smell) and does so to help you get rid of it.

Then, finally, you excrete it as waste through the bladder and the bowel. So you lose it quickly but steadily, and after enough has been lost you start to need more.

OTHER STOP SMOKING SERVICES IN BEVERLEY

Hypnosis might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the NHS Humber website here.
