We find most smokers stop in a single session, but a free follow-up is provided within three months in the event that you have a problem. Our Tamworth hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.
Not provided here at the present time. We hope, though, to appoint an acupuncturist in this area soon.
We hope to bring AM to Staffordshire by the end of 2017.

A SHORT CASE HISTORY
From our Tamworth hypnotherapy branch
There are two fears that almost everyone has when they are going to stop smoking. They are the fear of failure, and the fear of success. Both are amenable to hypnosis, and both were a problem for Lisa. However, like a lot of smokers, Lisa didn’t recognise these fears. This was because although she had been several times to her GP for smoking cessation help, he had never discussed them with her. Prior to attending our Tamworth hypnotist, we explained these fears to Lisa, and understanding them, and how our hypnotherapist was going to help her to overcome them, made all the difference.
There are three question we need to discuss. Why do smokers have these fears, why don’t NHS staff offer any help with them, and how does hypnotherapy help?
Why are smokers afraid?
In brief, the addiction to nicotine creates psychological dependence. This means, in Lisa’s case, that she knew smoking wasn’t helping her but at the same time she believed it was. This conflict is something almost all smokers have. And of course it’s something our Tamworth hypnotherapist was able to help Lisa with. Lisa was, without realising it, afraid of living without the drug she was addicted to. This is fear of success. And at the same time she was afraid she would fail to stop smoking, because she always had. This fear of failure creates the very thing smokers are afraid of.
Why doesn’t the National Health Service help with these fears?
Firstly, because the NHS smoking cessation model is built exclusively around drug products. Understanding the psychology of dependence is therefore not relevant. Because of this, even NHS staff who want to know more don’t get the necessary training. Naturally, this is a subject all Tamworth hypnotists are trained in.
How does hypnotherapy help with these fears?
Both of these fears are irrational – there is no reason for them to exist. Therefore, a hypnotherapist can change the client’s belief in them. Once Lisa understood she had these two paradoxical fears, she also understood that hypnotherapy has the power to undo the way her brain had been conditioned by them. That was just what our Tamworth hypnotherapist did, and following her session Lisa found her relationship with cigarettes had changed completely. That was why she stopped smoking.
NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO STOP SMOKING
Sometimes, people come to us not to stop smoking but for smoking reduction. It’s a choice they make. We publish a book on reduction. It’s called, No, You Don’t Have to Stop Smoking. You might be interested to read some of it before you visit our Tamworth hypnosis branch. Here is a taster.
It will stop people nagging you
People, by which I mean your family and friends, your physician and the media, are always nagging you to stop smoking, aren’t they? Sometimes you wonder if this isn’t counter-productive, if it makes you angry and that makes you determined not to stop. Sometimes you try to stop smoking but you don’t try very hard, because you’re only doing it to get people off your back.
Well now you can wave this book in their faces, and if they say what do you mean you’re cutting down, you have to stop, you can say no, Robert Brynin, one of the world’s leading experts on the subject (hey, just say it to impress them) says it is not only really really good to smoke less but that doing that can be the first step towards stopping. It doesn’t matter that you don’t actually intend to stop.
TALK WITH OUR HYPNOTIST FIRST
When you enquire about hypnotherapy we will discuss whether it’s what you need. If it is, we will have our Tamworth hypnotist phone you, because you will still want to see if you like them. Hypnotherapy is great, which is why we provide it, but your success will also depend on your relationship with the hypnotherapist you see.
