Most clients stop in a single session, but a free follow-up is provided within three months in the event that you have a problem. Our Banstead hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.

When you have seen our Banstead hypnotherapist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling.

Learn to alter your stress reaction
Some people react badly to stressors and some don’t. I don’t know why this is but I suspect it has rather more to do with nature than nurture. I used to be bad at stress, especially driving, which I hate. I resolved the driving stress by changing my car. I bought a big old limousine and in that I felt isolated from other road users. I no longer needed to compete (it couldn’t go very fast anyway) and in the days before SUVs the driving position was higher than most other cars.
When I started doing the work I do now two of the doctors I worked with specialised, among other things, in stress management, and we decided to introduce certain techniques into our programmes. Helping people to stop smoking means inevitably that they are under stress (although because we can control the addiction to nicotine this is greatly reduced) so we throw everything into the mix we can find. There are two techniques in particular that you will find helpful, not just for stopping smoking, because they really will help you to be more relaxed and that will always be useful. I do both of these myself, we all do in the Institute, so that tells you they are good.
