Warwick Hypnotherapy AfterCare

This gives three years of support. We strongly advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your session. We will talk through how the session went, how you feel right now, and what, if anything, else we need to do.

A STOP-SMOKING TIP

If you’ve tried to stop smoking ther’s one issue you need to know about. It is going to help to know this before you see our Warwick hypnotist or acupuncturist. It is about the one food that can make you crave a cigarette, and this food is tomato.

The tomato and tobacco plants are members of the same plant family – nightshade (solenaceae). Being related means they have molecules in common. If you eat tomato in the first few days after stopping smoking your body can interpret the tomato molecule as coming from tobacco. In that case the tomato is in fact able to mimic tobacco. This means you’ll get a kind of fix from the tomato.

Some people think this might actually be a good thing. They wonder if they can use tomato as a nicotine replacement product. And in fact they’re right in a way. Just like an NRP, whose job is to maintain yous addiction, tomato can also do that. So, just as you mustn’t use an NRP after seeing our hypnotist or acupuncturist in Warwick, you mustn’t eat tomato either. This means ANY food made from or containing tomato. The list includes ketchup and tomato soup, of course, but also any pasta sauce, pizza topping and baked beans. In fact anything Italian. It is only, as we say, for four or five days after your last tobacco, and it is worth a little bit of thought.

If you’ve any questions about this or anything else, call our national advice team on 01200 40 50 22.
