Most clients stop after one session, though a free follow-up is provided within three months in the event that you have a problem. Our Worthing hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.
We find that most patients stop smoking in two treatments, but we provide a third just in case. All three are covered by this fee, as is our three years of AfterCare support..
We hope to bring AM to West Sussex by the end of 2017.

OUR GUARANTEED AFTERCARE SERVICE
When you have seen our Worthing hypnotherapist or acupuncturist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling.
Worthing Hypnotherapy AfterCare
Hypnotherapy is great, and most clients stop after a single session. However, assume that something might change after the therapy, so promise yourself that you will use our help and support. This is provided for three years. If you need more help from our Worthing hypnotist, we’ll invite you back for a second session as well.
Worthing Acupuncture AfterCare
You will be getting three years of counselling and support with acupuncture. In addition to the long-term support, we like to talk with you after the first treatment. This is to assess your progress and ensure that our Worthing acupuncturist has feedback to prepare for your second treatment.

A SHORT CASE HISTORY
From our Worthing hypnotherapy branch
Christine was a serial failer. Every time she went to her GP, he put her on another drug product. She failed to stop smoking with nicotine patches, so he prescribed a nicotine inhaler. When she failed with that he gave her nicotine lozenges. She failed with them, so what did he do? He put her back on patches. Then, in desperation, he put her on two nicotine replacement products at the same time. Finally, when all these NRPs failed to make any impression, he prescribed Champix. It was only when Christine had to come off that because of the side effects that she started looking for a Worthing hypnotherapist.
She didn’t have much idea what it is that hypnosis does, but she knew she had to do something different. She found National Stop Smoking Centres online, and called us to book in to see her. However, before we got as far as having our Worthing hypnotist call her we wanted to ask her all about her failures. As far as she was concerned, she didn’t know why she hadn’t stopped smoking with any of the NHS’s products, so she just wanted to try something else. We explained that this is not the way to do it. We will only provide any given therapy if we believe it is going to succeed.
So we spent upwards of twenty minutes on the phone talking through her various attempts. One of the reasons we do this is to see whether the client is talking about the wrong therapy. We’re really quite good at doing that. (As it happens, very few smokers are unsuited for hypnotherapy). At the end of this chat, Christine understood that she did indeed need hypnotherapy to help her to stop smoking. At this point, we arranged for her to see, Sandi, our hypnotist in Worthing.
Sandi rang Christine, and they had a further chat on the phone. By the end of this talk, Christine was convinced that she was now getting the right stop-smoking method. This was going to be a great help when she came for her session. Now, she knew that she was doing the right thing, and she was seeing a therapist she already felt comfortable with. There are of course a number of Worthing hypnotists, and one of whom would happily have seen Christine. Are we saying that ours is the only one who could help her? Of course not. It not about making such a claim. It’s about just getting it right – the right therapy, the right therapist … and something else.
Support is something that everyone needs when they stop smoking. Every hypnotherapist will offer some level of support. Usually, they will say the client they should call them if they have a problem. More often that not they will offer to see them again, without charge, within say a month. We find there are two problems with this approach. One is that the therapist can’t usually take a call just when you want to speak with them. And the other is that all hypnotherapists deal with a range of issues. Even NSSC therapists do. But once Christine had had her hypnosis in Worthing, she didn’t need support from the therapist. She was able to call our dedication support service, called NSSC AfterCare. The point is that it’s available far more, and also that it is manned by smoking cessation specialists.
Christine stopped smoking after just one session of hypnotherapy. This is what we expected. She didn’t really have any problems, but she did call the AfterCare team. Why? Well, she just found it helpful to stay in touch. She called about once a week for quite a while, and we were always happy to hear from her. Another point here is that we were able to give our Worthing hypnotherapist feedback. This is important for further professional development, and it’s part of what being a National Stop Smoking Centres hypnotherapist or acupuncturist is about.
THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK
Here’s a snippet from the book. There are lots of pages you can read for free. We suggest you do this before you come to our Worthing hypnosis or acupuncture service.
….. Before we look at this in detail, here are some things you can do to help make your Smoke-Free Day a success.
Decide whether a working day or a weekend day will be easier.
If you’re not working, plan a fun-filled day when you won’t be sitting around bored.
Drink lots of water.
And now I’m going to make this really easy, so don’t say I don’t care about you. You can smoke on your Smoke-Free Day. No, this is not a joke. You can, if you want, smoke herbal cigarettes. You see, the point of the Smoke-Free Day is not to not smoke, but to not smoke nicotine. And the point of smoking herbal cigarettes on this day is that they will give you all the psychological support you would get from a real cigarette because smoking is smoking. What you won’t be getting is a fix, but because you will be smoking you won’t be under pressure to smoke, if you see what I mean. Read the bit about herbal cigarettes again in Project 5.
So now tell me you can’t do one day without tobacco. Oh, and by the way I shouldn’t have to say this but I will, you can’t use an NRP on this day.
