OUR GUARANTEED AFTERCARE SERVICE

When you have seen our Brighton hypnotherapist or acupuncturist, or you have Addiction Management, we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling..

Brighton Hypnotherapy AfterCare

This gives three years of support. We strongly advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your first session. We will talk through how the session went, how you fell right now, and what, if anything, else we need to do to prepare you for your second session.

Brighton Acupuncture AfterCare

Because acupuncture is done in three sessions, we suggest you call us after each one (at the very least after the first). Acupuncture is what we call a single-discipline therapy, and we provide it as part of a package, because you will get the best result if we work with you between treatments, on the psychological issues as well. This is a three-year support package.

Addiction Management AfterCare

The support with AM is somewhat different. If you need more of your Tobacco Factor, this is provided at a small charge (see the fees here). Our phone support is available, though, for an unlimited time, which means for life.

A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you decide to see our Brighton hypnotist or acupuncturist, do you know which is the best therapy for you? Everyone has heard of hypnotherapy. We find, though, that most smokers actually know very little about it. How much do you know? Click on the link above to learn more. Think about why you fail to stop smoking and ask yourself whether hypnotherapy solves that problem.

And of course the same applies if you are thinking of booking with our Brighton acupuncturist. We find most smokers are unfamiliar with acupuncture, at least for smoking cessation. So take the time to read about it before deciding.

If you are still confused, why not call us? We’re here to help, and making sure you have the right therapy is important, so you can be confident we are going to be giving you good advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

Every smoker is asked, when they ring us about our Brighton hypnotist or acupuncturist, why they can’t stop smoking. There are usually several reasons, but one of the most common ones is habit.

And yet habit is not actually stopping you stopping. Habit means something you do automatically. You light a cigarette after a meal, or with a cup of coffee for instance. Whilst it is true these are habit cigarettes, is habit the reason you smoke them? No, the reason you smoke any given cigarette is because you have cigarettes to smoke. You can test whether this is true by not having them readily available.

Before you book with our acupuncturist or hypnotist in Brighton, try breaking your habit. Don’t keep your cigarettes where you can just pick one up and light it without thinking. Make yourself think, so that it’s not automatic. Even better, just don’t buy any. Now see if you smoke out of habit. You probably think you would have to go and buy some. Yes you would, which proves our point, doesn’t it? Having to buy some is nothing to do with habit, is it?

R

DOING IT RIGHT

GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR NSSC THERAPY

You are thinking of coming to our Brighton hypnosis or acupuncture branch because you want to see a qualified therapist. We provide a comprehensive service, and part of that is to advise and support you every step of the way. These tips are a good starting point for you.

Prior to your session:

1. See how acupuncture works here, or how hypnotherapy works here.

2. Learn about different aspects of smoking cessation from The NSCI Stop-Smoking Handbook.

3. Watch some or all of our videos, each covering a different aspect of smoking cessation.

Then:

4. Our Brighton hypnotist / acupuncturist needs to know why you can’t stop smoking. Tell them.

5. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing tomato, for the first four or five days. The reason is explained elsewhere on this site. Or phone us and we’ll explain.

6. If you were a recovering alcoholic, you would not allow people to drink in your home. You are going to be a recovering nicotine addict. No-one os allowed to smoke in your home.

7. The day after the session (first treatment in acupuncture), talk to our NSSC AfterCare team,.The number is 01200 40 50 22.

8. Tell your friends you are stopping smoking. If you won’t support you, they’re not really friends, are they?

9. Just before your appointment throw away all your smoking materials.

And finally:

10. Support is what sets us apart. If you don’t use it, and you have a problem, you have only yourself to blame. Decide right now that once you have seen our acupuncturist or hypnotist in Brighton you will call the AfterCare team to take advantage of their support.

OTHER BRIGHTON STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the Brighton and Hove City Council website here.
