A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you see our Newtownabbey hypnotist we suggest you take time to ensure that this is the best method for you. Everyone has their own issues with stopping smoking. Think about what yours are, and learn whether hypnotherapy is good at dealing with those. We have a page, linked above, which goes into how it works, so do read that first.

In fact hypnotherapy is such a successful stop-smoking method because it DOES resolve the problems smokers have. Almost everyone does very well with it. We’re just saying there are other options, and they should be considered. The obvious one is acupuncture. This is every bit as successful, but not all smokers know about it. It’s possible that it would be more suited for you, so read about it before you decide. We can’t offer it here, but we do have a Belfast acupuncture branch.

Having thought this through, if you are ready to make an appointment with our Newtownabbey hypnotist, we’ll be pleased to get you booked in.

If you’re still not sure, then we strongly recommend that you call us We are here to help, and helping you to choose the right therapy matters to us. You can be confident we’re going to give you impartial advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

One of the issues smokers want to talk about about, when they call about seeing our Newtownabbey hypnotist, is stress. They often say they can’t stop smoking because of it. Or that they did stop, but it was stress that made them start again. It all comes to the same thing. Their belief that smoking relieves stress.

Well, we can tell you something for sure here. It doesn’t matter how much you think it does; smoking does not relieve stress.

When you don’t get a drug you are addicted to, you become stressed. When you don’t smoke, you don’t get nicotine and you feel stressed. When you then smoke, the nicotine makes you feel less stressed. So what smoking is doing is nothing more than relieving the stress you feel because you haven’t smoked. There is nothing in tobacco that relieves any other kind of stress.

The problem this causes is that it creates the belief that it is smoking that makes you less stressed. It’s just not true. So before you see our Belfast or Newtownabbey hypnotist accept this right now. You do not need to worry about stress. In fact, and this is the really good news, when people stop smoking they actually become LESS stressed.

DOING IT RIGHT

TEN TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR NSSC HYPNOTHERAPY

Smokers see our Belfast hypnosis branch in Newtownabbey not only because they want a qualified therapist. We provide a comprehensive service, and that includes advising and supporting you every step of the way. So let’s start here.

Prior to your session:

1. Investigate how hypnotherapy works here.

2. Read up on different aspects of stopping smoking from The NSCI Stop-Smoking Handbook.

3. We have six videos, each covering a different aspect of smoking cessation. Time spent watching them will serve you well.

Then:

4. Our Newtownabbey hypnotist needs to know why you can’t stop smoking. Tell him everything.

5. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing tomato, for the first four or five days. The reason is explained elsewhere on this site, but it’s also in our book. Or phone us and we’ll explain.

6. If you were a recovering alcoholic, you would not expect people to drink in your home. You are going to be a recovering nicotine addict. No-one smokes in your home.

7. The day after the session call our NSSC AfterCare team, on 01200 40 50 22. Their support makes us different from independent therapists.

8. Many clients think it’s a good idea to test themselves by socialising and drinking. Actually, it’s a really bad one. Why would you? Tell your smoking friends you are stopping. If you don’t support you, they’re not really friends, are they?

9. The day of your appointment, throw away all your smoking materials.

And finally:

10. We have already said that support is what sets us apart. If you don’t use it, and you have a problem, you have only yourself to blame. Decide right now that once you have seen our Belfast hypnotist in Newtownabbey you will call the AfterCare team.
