A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you see our Crosby hypnotist in Liverpool we suggest you take time to ensure that this is the best method for you. Everyone has their own issues with stopping smoking. Think about what yours are, and learn whether hypnotherapy is good at dealing with those. We have a page, linked above, which goes into how it works, so do read that first.

In fact hypnotherapy is such a successful stop-smoking method because it DOES resolve the problems smokers have. Almost everyone does very well with it. We’re just saying there are other options, and they should be considered. The obvious one is acupuncture. This is every bit as successful, but not all smokers know about it. It’s possible that it would be more suited for you, so read about it before you decide. We can’t offer it here, but we do have a Liverpool acupuncture branch.

Having thought this through, if you are ready to make an appointment with our Crosby hypnotist, then by all means go ahead.

If you’re still not sure, then we strongly recommend that you call us We are here to help, and helping you to choose the right therapy matters to us. You can be confident we’re going to give you impartial advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

One of the issues smokers worry about, when they call us about our Crosby hypnotist, is stress. They smoke more when they are stressed. They say they can’t stop smoking because of it. Sometimes they say they did stop but it was stress that made them start again. It all comes down to the same thing. They believe smoking relieves stress. It doesn’t.

And this is why. You smoke, so you are addicted to nicotine. When you don’t get a substance you are addicted to, this produces stress. When you don’t smoke, you don’t get nicotine and you feel stressed. When you light up, the nicotine in the cigarette makes you feel less stressed. So what smoking is doing is nothing more than relieving the stress you feel because you haven’t had a cigarette. There is nothing in the cigarette that relieves any other kind of stress.

The problem this causes is that it creates the belief that it is smoking that makes you less stressed. It’s just not true. So before you see our Crosby hypnotist accept this right now. You do not need to worry about stress.

DOING IT RIGHT

TEN TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR NSSC HYPNOTHERAPY

Smokers come for our Crosby hypnosis in Liverpool not solely because they want a qualified therapist. Ours is a comprehensive service, and part of that is to advise and support you every step of the way. These instructions are a good place to start.

Before your session:

1. Learn about how hypnotherapy works here.

2. Learn a lot of useful stuff about stopping smoking from The NSCI Stop-Smoking Handbook.

3. We have six videos, each covering a different part of smoking cessation. Invest a little of your time watching them.

Then:

4. Our Crosby hypnotist needs to know why you can’t stop smoking. Tell them everything.

5. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing tomato, for the first four or five days. The reason is explained elsewhere on this site, but it’s also in our book. Or phone us and we’ll explain.

6. If you were a recovering alcoholic, you would not expect people to drink in your home. You are going to be a recovering nicotine addict. No-one smokes in your home.

7. The day after the session (first treatment in acupuncture), talk to our NSSC AfterCare team, on 01200 40 50 22. It’s this support that makes us different from independent therapists.

8. Many people think it’s a good idea to test themselves by socialising and drinking. Actually, it’s a really bad idea. Why would you do that? Tell your friends you are stopping smoking. If you won’t support you, they’re not really friends, are they?

9. The day of your appointment, throw away all your smoking materials.

And finally:

10. Decide right now that once you have seen our Liverpool hypnotist in Crosby you will call the AfterCare team to take advantage of their help.

OTHER CROSBY STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the Smokefree Liverpool website here.
