A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you decide to see our Nantwich hypnotist do take a little time to consider if this is the right method for you. How much do you know about it and how it works? We have some helpful information on this site, so click on the link above to get the details. Think about why you can’t stop smoking and ask the question that really matters. Does hypnotherapy solve that problem?

As it happens almost everyone does very well with it, but there are other options and they should be considered. The main one is acupuncture. This is every bit as successful, but for some reason is less well known by smokers. It may be more suited for you, so read about it before you decide. We don’t do it here but we do have Cheshire acupuncture branches. If you still want to make an appointment with our Nantwich hypnotist, then by all means go ahead.

If, though, you’re not sure, then why not call us? We’re here to help, and making sure you get the right therapy matters to us, so you can be confident we will give you good advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

One of the most common things we hear when smokers phone about our Nantwich hypnotist is that they’re not sure they do want to stop. We know they wouldn’t be calling if they didn’t. Still, their call is a good first step, so we can’t ignore their doubt.

This is surely something you yourself have experienced. You may be feeling it now, as you are reading this. Perhaps you’re looking for some way out of this dilemma – you want to stop but do you really?

Let’s say first of all that if you really wanted to stop – a hundred percent – you probably would not be reading this, you would have stopped. And yet we just said you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to stop. What does this mean? It means you do want to, but only to a certain extent. As with most issues in life, how much you will commit is a function of how important it is. And how hard.

Now add in the fact that you are addicted to nicotine, and that this has created a belief that you can’t live without smoking. So here you are, wanting to jump but afraid to. How can you resolve this problem? There is only one way. In your more rational moments, you know you have to do this. You also know that once you have stopped smoking you will be pleased you did. After all, who has ever heard of anyone regretting not smoking?

Call us, book with our Nantwich hypnotist. Ignore the fear, and just do it anyway. Because you too will never regret stopping. You regret starting to smoke, so how could you regret stopping?

TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR NSSC HYPNOTHERAPY

Smokers come to our Nantwich hypnosis branch not only because they are looking for a qualified therapist. We provide a comprehensive service, part of which is to advise and support you every step of the way. These tips are a good starting point for you.

Before your session:

1. Investigate how hypnotherapy works here.

2. Read up on different aspects of stopping smoking in part of The NSCI Stop-Smoking Handbook.

3. We have a series of six videos, each covering a different aspect of smoking cessation. Time spent on them will serve you well.

Then:

4. Our Nantwich hypnotist wants to know why you can’t stop smoking. Tell her everything.

5. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing it, for the first four or five days. The reason is explained elsewhere here, but it’s also in our book. Or phone us and we’ll tell you all about it.

6. If you were a recovering alcoholic, you would not expect people to drink in your home. You are going to be a recovering nicotine addict. Why would anyone smoke in your home?

7. The day after your session (first treatment in acupuncture), talk to our NSSC AfterCare team, on 01200 40 50 22. It’s their support that makes us so different from independent therapists.

8. Many people imagine it’s an idea to test themselves by socialising and drinking. In fact it’s a really bad idea. Why would you? Tell your friends you are stopping smoking. If you can’t support you, they’re not really friends, are they?

9. The day of your appointment, throw away all your cigarettes.

And finally:

10. We’ve already said that support is what sets us apart. If you don’t use it, and you have a problem, you have only yourself to blame. Decide right now that once you have seen our Nantwich hypnotist you will call the AfterCare team if you need their help.

OTHER NANTWICH STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the NHS Smokefree website here.
