A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before booking with our Macclesfield hypnotist do take a little time to ensure that this is the best method for you. How much do you know about it? There is some good information on this site, so click on the link above to get the facts. Think about why you can’t stop smoking and ask the only question that matters. Does hypnotherapy solve that problem?

In fact almost all smokers do well with it. What we’re saying here is that there are other methods, and they should be considered. The main one is of course acupuncture. This is every bit as successful, but is less well known by smokers. It may be more suited for you, so read about it before you decide. We don’t provide it at this branch, but we do have Cheshire acupuncture branches. Check them out on the Branchfinder.

If you’re still not sure, then why not call us? We’re here to help, and making sure you get the right therapy matters to us, so you can be confident we will give you good advice. If and when you’re ready to book with our Macclesfield hypnotist, we’ll be happy to arrange this.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

Something we hear when people call us about our Macclesfield hypnotist is that they’re not sure they do want to stop smoking. Our response to this is they wouldn’t be talking to us if they didn’t. Even so, their call is a good first step, so we explain what is going on in their minds.

Let’s say first of all that if you did want to stop – really want it – you probably wouldn’t be reading this, you would have stopped. And yet you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to stop. What does this mean? It means you do want to, but only to a certain extent. How much you want anything is a function of how important it is. And how hard it is to get it.

Now add in your addiction. This has created a belief that you can’t live without smoking. So here you are, afraid. How can you resolve this problem? There is only one way. In your more rational moments, you know you have to do this. You also know that once you have stopped smoking you will be pleased you did. After all, who has ever heard of anyone regretting not smoking?

So call us, book in with our Macclesfield hypnotist. Ignore the fear, and just do it anyway. Because you too will never regret stopping. You regret becoming a smoker, so how could you regret stopping?

DOING IT RIGHT

TEN TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR NSSC HYPNOTHERAPY

Smokers come to our Macclesfield hypnosis service not just because they want a qualified therapist. We provide a comprehensive service, and part of that is to advise and support you each step of the way. These tips are a good starting point for you.

Prior to your session:

1. Investigate how hypnosis works here.

2. Read up on different aspects of stopping smoking from The NSCI Stop-Smoking Handbook.

3. We have six videos, each covering a different aspect of smoking cessation. Time spent watching them will serve you well.

Then:

4. Our Macclesfield hypnotist will need to know why you can’t stop smoking. Tell them everything.

5. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing tomato, for the first four or five days. The reason is explained elsewhere on this site, and it’s also in our book. Or phone us and we’ll explain.

6. If you were a recovering alcoholic, you wouldn’t expect people to drink in your home. You are going to be a recovering nicotine addict. No-one smokes in your home.

7. The day after the session (first treatment in acupuncture), talk to our NSSC AfterCare team, on 01200 40 50 22. It’s this support that makes us different from ordinary therapists.

8. Some people think it’s a good idea to test themselves by socialising and drinking. Actually, it’s a really bad idea. Why would you do that? Tell your friends you are stopping smoking. If you won’t support you, they’re not really friends, are they?

9. The day of your appointment, throw away all your smoking materials.

And finally:

10. We have already said that support is what sets us apart. If you don’t use it, and you have a problem, you will have only yourself to blame. Decide now that once you have seen our Macclesfield hypnotist you will call the AfterCare team and take advantage of their expertise.

OTHER MACCLESFIELD STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the NHS East Cheshire website here.
