A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you decide to see our Pinner hypnotist do carefully consider if this is the right therapy for you. Everyone has heard of hypnotherapy but actually don’t know a lot about it. How much do you know? There is some good information on this site, so click on the link above to get the facts. Think about why you can’t stop smoking and ask yourself an important question. Does hypnotherapy solve your problem?

In fact almost everyone does very well with it. What we’re saying here is that there are other options you could consider. The main one is of course acupuncture. This is every bit as successful, but for some reason is less well known by smokers. It might be more suited for you, so read about it before you decide. We don’t have it here, but we do have a Ruislip acupuncture branch. When you feel ready to make an appointment with our Pinner hypnotist, then by all means go ahead.

If you’re still not sure, then why not call us? We’re here to help, and making sure you get the right therapy matters to us, so you can be confident we will give you good advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

An issue that crops up time and again when we’re talking to prospective clients is motivation. They’re not sure they want to stop smoking – despite calling us! ‘You have to want to stop’ is in fact a myth. If you are thinking of seeing our Pinner hypnotist or acupuncturist, there is something you need to understand about this idea..

If you have been asking yourself if you want to stop smoking, you have in fact been asking the wrong question. Because no-one wants to stop smoking. What they want is to be a non-smoker. Think about it, and then ask yourself a better question. Are you glad you started smoking? We already know the answer to that one, don’t we?

So you have a conflict. You wish you had never started, but you’re not sure you want to stop. You can surely see what the problem is here. The issue is not BEING a non-smoker, it’s BECOMING one.You want to be someone who doesn’t smoke, but you don’t want to go through the process. Now that is quite understandable. What you actually want is for smoking just to go away. Well, that is a bit like wanting a toothache to go away. It’s only going to do that if you go to your dentist. You are only going to be a non-smoker if you go through the stopping process.

So just stop worrying about your motivation. Make your booking with our Pinner acupuncturist or hypnotist, because you know that once you have stopped you will be glad you did. And here’s another question you could ask yourself. Have you ever met anyone who regretted stopping smoking?

DOING IT RIGHT

TEN TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR NSSC HYPNOTHERAPY

We want you to get the best from our Pinner hypnotherapy or acupuncture branch. Follow these tips and you can help us to help you.

Before you come:

1. Read about acupuncture here, or hypnotherapy and how it works here. There is also free pages from our book you can read here.

2. Watch the videos here. You don’t have to watch all of them. Just pick those that interest you the most.

3. Throw away all smoking materials on the morning of your appointment.

4. Tell your friends you are going to stop smoking and ask them for their support.

Then:

5. At the session, make sure you ask our Edgware hypnotist or acupuncturist anything at all. Don’t hold back.

6. The day after the session, call the NSSC AfterCare helpdesk, on 01200 40 50 22. Their job is to check that everything is going well. If it is, that’s great. If it isn’t, they will help you to fix it.

7. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing tomato. If you don’t know why, call us.

8. You might be tempted to go out drinking with friends who smoke. Don’t, until you don’t care about smoking.

9. If you have a smoker in the house, they have to support you. This means a) not smoking in the house, and b) not leaving cigarettes around.

And afterwards:

10. This is important. If you have a problem, call us. If you think you might smoke, call us. If you do smoke, call us. We will never judge you. We’re here to help, and we’re very good at it. Don’t call our acupuncturist or hypnotist in Edgware, call the AfterCare team, on 01200 40 50 22.
