A STOP-SMOKING TIP

An issue that often comes up when we’re talking to prospective clients is motivation. They say they’re not sure they want to stop smoking – despite calling us about it! ‘You have to want to stop’ is in fact a myth. If you are thinking of seeing our Enfield hypnotist or acupuncturist, there is something you need to understand about this idea..

If you have been asking yourself if you want to stop smoking, you have in fact been asking the wrong question. Because no-one wants to stop smoking. What they want is to be a non-smoker. Think about it, and while you’re doing that ask yourself a better question. Are you glad you started smoking? We already know the answer to that one, don’t we?

So you have a conflict. You wish you had never started, but you’re not sure you want to stop. You should be able to see what the problem is here. The issue is not BEING a non-smoker, it’s BECOMING one.You want to be someone who doesn’t smoke, but you don’t want to go through the process. Now that is quite understandable. What you actually want is for smoking just to go away. Well, that is a bit like wanting a toothache to go away. It’s only going to do that if you go to your dentist. You are only going to be a non-smoker if you go through the stopping process.

Have you ever met anyone who regretted stopping smoking? So just stop worrying about your motivation. Make your booking with our Enfield acupuncturist or hypnotist, because you know that once you have stopped you won’t regret it either.

THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK

Before seeing our Enfield hypnotherapist, you might like to read the free sample pages on our website.
Here is a very small taster:

Fascinating Fact Number 6

You don’t actually need to inhale cigarette smoke to get nicotine. Think about nicotine replacement products. The patch squirts nicotine through your skin. The NRPs you use by mouth all squirt it through the lining of your mouth. And that’s how you get it when you smoke – through the lining of your mouth. It’s why cigar and pipe smokers, who don’t

inhale, are as addicted as cigarette smokers.

Why is it that cigarette smokers tend to get cancer of the lungs, while pipe and cigar smokers tend to get cancer of the mouth and throat? It’s because the latter don’t inhale the smoke. Some famous people, including Sigmund Freud and King George VI, were cigar smokers and had cancer of the mouth which contributed to their death.

OTHER ENFIELD STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the Royal Free London NHS website here.
