A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you arrange an appointment with our Highgate hypnotist do take a little time to ensure that this is the right therapy for you. Everyone has heard of hypnotherapy, and it’s very popular. They have heard of it but they actually know very little about it. How much do you know about it? There is some good information on this site, so click on the link above to get the facts. Think about why you can’t stop smoking and ask the only question that matters. Is hypnotherapy going to solve that problem?

In fact almost every smoker does very well with it. What we’re saying here is that there are other options, and they should be considered. The main one is acupuncture of course. This is every bit as successful, but for some reason is less well known. It may be more suited for you, so read about it before you decide. We don’t have a Highgate branch for it, but we do have other north London acupuncture branches. If you then feel ready to make an appointment with our Highgate hypnotist, then by all means go ahead.

If you’re still not sure, then why not call us? We’re here to help, and making sure you get the right therapy matters to us, so you can be confident we will give you good advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

A question we are asked all the time, which is only to be expected, is how successful our Highgate hypnosis service is. The problem e have is that it is not actually possible to answer this in an ethical way. This is because success rates can’t be proved, and so claiming a rate would not be ethical.

But we do want to give a helpful answer, so this is what we say instead. There are three things you can do to help yourself.

The first is to have hypnotherapy because you have thought about why you can’t stop smoking, and you know it solves your kind of problem. If you’re not sure about that, call our national advice service, on 01200 40 50 22. If we believe it’s right for you, we’ll get our Highgate hypnotist to get in touch with you.

The second factor is finding a therapist with proper qualifications and experience. Of course, that is why we are here, so that one is sorted.

And the third, which you might not have thought of, is support. Having access to specialist counsellors after you’ve seen our Highgate hypnotist can make a huge difference. This service is here for you for three years.

And here is something else for you to think about. You have very probably failed to stop smoking with the NHS’s drug products, which is why you are reading this. You may have come to believe, because you keep failing, that you can’t succeed. Think again. You have been using pharmaceutical products. That has nothing to do with therapy. Therapy always works better than drugs.

DOING IT RIGHT

TIPS FOR GETTING THE MOST FROM YOUR HYPNOTHERAPY IN HIGHGATE

We want every client to get the very best from their therapy. Following these tips will help us to help you.

Before your appointment:

1. Read about hypnotherapy and how it works here. There is also part of our book you can read here.

2. Watch the videos here. You don’t have to watch every one. Pick those that interest you.

Then:

3. At the session, make sure you discuss everything with our Highgate hypnotist. Don’t hold back – they need to know everything about your smoking

4. The next day, call the NSSC AfterCare helpdesk, on 01200 40 50 22. They will check everything is going to plan. If it is, that’s great. If not, they will help you to fix it.

5. Avoid tomatoes, and any food containing tomato. Call us if you don’t know why.

6. You might be tempted to go out socialising straight away. Don’t, until you don’t care about smoking.

7. If you have a smoker in the house, they should support you. This means a) not smoking in the house, and b) not leaving smoking materials around.

8. Throw your cigarettes / ashtrays / lighters away.

9. Tell your friends you are stopping smoking and expect their support.

And after the session:

10. If you have a problem, small or large, call us. If you think you might smoke, call us. If you do, call us. We will never judge. We’re here to help, and we’re very good at it. Don’t call our hypnotist in Highgate, call the NSSC AfterCare service, on 01200 40 50 22.

OTHER HIGHGATE STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the NHS Smokefree website here.
