OUR GUARANTEED AFTERCARE SERVICE

When you have seen our Banbury hypnotherapist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling.

Banbury Hypnotherapy AfterCare

This gives three years of support. We strongly advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your session. We will talk through how the session went, how you feel right now, and what, if anything, else we need to do.

A STOP-SMOKING TIP

A question we are often asked, which is only to be expected, is how successful our Banbury hypnosis service is. The problem with this question is that it is not actually possible to answer it ethically. This is because success rates can’t be proved, and so claiming a rate would be unethical, and we won’t do that.

We do like to give a helpful answer, though, so this is what we say instead. There are three things you can do yourself to make this work.

The first is to have hypnotherapy because you have thought about why you can’t stop smoking, and you know hypnotherapy solves those problems. If you’re not sure about that, call us and we will advise you. If we believe it’s right for you, we will get our Banbury hypnotist to call you to make an appointment.

The second factor is finding a therapist with proper qualifications and experience. Of course, that is why we here, so that one is sorted.

And the third, which you might not have thought of, is support. Having access to specialist counsellors after you’ve seen our Banbury hypnotist will make a significant difference. We provide this service free of charge for three years.

And here is something else for you to think about. You have very probably failed to stop smoking with the NHS’s drug products, which is why you are reading this. You may have come to believe, because you keep failing, that you can’t succeed. Think again. You have been using pharmaceutical products. That has nothing to do with therapy. Therapy always works better than drugs.

Here is a very small taster:

How addiction works

Do you remember the first time you ever smoked? Or the first time you smoked again after you had been stopped? What was it like? Almost all smokers remember (I do) that it was bad. It will have tasted bad and perhaps made you nauseous and/or dizzy.

Why do you think it has this effect? Because it’s poisonous. Tobacco smoke contains 4865 different poisonous substances. It is the most toxic thing you will ever put into your body. So, if it’s that poisonous how would you expect your body to react? Not unnaturally, your body will ask you not to do it. It’s quite normal and it’s part of your immune defence. If you absorb a poison, your immune system gives you symptoms which are signals to your brain not to do it. If you ignore those signals you run a severe risk of illness and death.

It’s like putting your hand on the hotplate of your cooker. Your body reacts with pain to get you to stop, and you do. Smokers though do just the opposite. They react with pain so they think mm, that was horrible, I’d better do it again.

Why would anyone be that daft? Because they are under psychological pressure to learn how to smoke. Your friends didn’t cough and splutter or go green or throw up, so you wanted to be like them and so you smoked another and another and what you did was to learn to smoke.

OTHER BANBURY STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the Smokefree Life Oxfordshire website here.
