A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Before you decide to see our Cambridge hypnotist you should make sure that it is the best therapy for you. Perhaps you know someone who stopped smoking with hypnotherapy, which is really reassuring. But that does not necessarily mean it’s best for you. Don’t get us wrong – it may very well be. We’re just saying it’s not the best way to make this decision.

Of course, if you’ve stopped before with hypnosis, then that does mean you should have it again. You should, though, think about why you started smoking again, so we should here remind you of our three years of support. Use it fully and it can make all the difference.

As it happens, we also offer acupuncture in Cambridge. If you’re not sure how this works, do click on the link above. Having said that, if you are ready to make an appointment with our Cambridge hypnotist then of course go ahead.

And finally, if you’re still not sure, having read the details we provide about both therapies, then why not phone us? We’re here to help, and making sure you get the right help matters a great deal to us, so you can be sure we will be giving you good advice.

ANOTHER STOP-SMOKING TIP

Many smokers who call us about our Cambridge hypnotist or acupuncturist want to know about the success rate for these therapies. We give all callers the same answer. We can’t say. This doesn’t mean we don’t know, it means we’re not allowed to say. As part of a medical foundation, we have strict ethical rules, and one of these is that we can’t make claims we can’t prove. In fact no therapist should make such claims.

We give potential clients an answer which we believe is more helpful. This is that, first of all, we provide therapy, and therapy is always more effective than the drug products the NHS uses. And then we explain the three things the smoker can do to make it work.

  1. Use the therapy that is right for you. Not for other people, for you. This means understanding why you have problems with stopping smoking and finding the therapy that solves those problems. Too many smokers, for example, use nicotine replacement products not because they solve the problems they have but because they are easy to get (and cheap). That’s not the way to do it.
  2. Find a qualified, experienced, ethical therapist. Well, you’re here now, so that’s that one dealt with.
  3. Expect post-therapy support. Independent therapists do sometimes offer this, but they have two problems. One is that they are not always available, because of course they are with clients. We have a dedicated AfterCare service. The other is that they don’t specialise. We do. We only do smoking cessation, which makes us more expert than any therapist you will ever see.

If you are thinking of booking with our Cambridge acupuncturist or hypnotherapist, read about how these therapies work on the page we have on this site. Then call us or complete the contact page. We will talk through your stop-smoking issues and advise on the best therapy for you. We will answer any questions you have. And then, when you’re ready, we will have our hypnotist or acupuncturist in Cambridge contact you. Get to know them, ask them in detail about how they work. Then, if you are ready, they will be able to offer you an appointment, normally within days.
