A STOP-SMOKING TIP

Smokers who call us about our Newark-on-Trent hypnotist often want to know about the success rate for our therapy. We give everyone the same answer – we can’t say. This doesn’t mean we don’t know, it means we’re not permitted to say. As part of a medical foundation we have strict ethical rules, and one of these is that we cannot make claims which we can’t prove. In fact no therapist should make such claims.

We give potential clients an answer we believe is more helpful. This is that, first of all, we provide therapy, and therapy is always more successful than the drug products the NHS provides. And then we explain the three things the smoker can do to make it work.

  1. Use the therapy that is right for you. Not for other people, for you. This means looking at why you have a problem with stopping smoking and finding the therapy that solves those issues. Too many smokers, for example, use nicotine replacement products not because they solve the problems they have but because they are easy to get (and cheap). That’s not the way to do it.
  2. Find a qualified, experienced, ethical therapist. Well, you’re here, so that’s that one solved.
  3. Demand post-therapy support. Independent therapists do often offer this, but they have two problems. One is that they are not always available, because they are seeing clients. We have a dedicated AfterCare service. The other is that they don’t specialise. We do. We only do smoking cessation, which makes us more knowledgeable than any therapist you will ever see.

If you are thinking of booking with our Newark hypnotherapist, read about how it works on the page we have on this site. Then call us or complete the contact page. We will talk through your stop-smoking issues and advise on the correct therapy for you. We will answer any questions you have. And then, when you’re ready, we will have our Newark hypnotist call you. Get to know them, ask them in detail about how they work. Then, if you are ready, they can offer you an appointment, usually within days.

THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK

Before you see our Newark-on-Trent hypnotherapist, you might like to read the free sample pages on our website.
Here is a very small taster:

….. Sometimes you say you do want to stop, which is true because you know for sure, in your saner moments, that it’s right, and sometimes you say you don’t want to stop, but those are the moments when tobacco is controlling your thoughts. You have a brain that has been developed and finely honed over hundreds of thousands of years, and it has the power to overcome the fear the tobacco companies impose on you.

When you say you don’t want to stop smoking, or even that you’re not sure you want to stop, you don’t actually believe that. The ninety percent of smokers on the street who say they don’t want to stop smoking are lying. No, alright, they’re not actually lying, because that would be deliberate, but they are obfuscating, which sounds nicer.

Every smoker is afraid to stop, and that fear is something you are going to be reading a lot more about later because it’s the biggest single reason why people make themselves believe they don’t want to stop. Even when they admit they do want to stop, and they try to and fail, it is almost always the fear of stopping that has caused that failure.

The fact is, there is almost no smoker who is glad they do it. Everyone who smokes wants to stop. Including you.

OTHER NEWARK STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the Smokefreelife Nottinghamshire website here.
