A STOP-SMOKING TIP

A lot of smokers who call us about our Wellingborough hypnotist want to know about the success rate for our therapy. We give everyone the same answer. We can’t say. This doesn’t mean we don’t know, it means we’re not allowed to say. As part of a medical foundation, we have strict ethical rules, and one of these is that we cannot make claims which we can’t prove. In fact no therapist should make such claims.

We give potential clients an answer which we believe is more helpful. This is that, first of all, we provide therapy, and therapy is always more successful than the drug products the NHS uses. And then we explain the three things the smoker can do to make it work.

  1. Use the therapy that is right for you. Not for other people, for you. This means looking at why you have a problem with stopping smoking and finding the therapy that solves those issues. Too many smokers, for example, use nicotine replacement products not because they solve the problems they have but because they are easy to get (and cheap). That’s not the way to do it.
  2. Find a qualified, experienced, ethical therapist. Well, you’re here, so that’s that one solved.
  3. Demand post-therapy support. Independent therapists do often offer this, but they have two problems. One is that they are not always available, because they are seeing clients. We have a dedicated AfterCare service. The other is that they don’t specialise. We do. We only do smoking cessation, which makes us more knowledgeable than any therapist you will ever see.

If you are thinking of booking with our Wellingborough hypnotherapist, read about how it works on the page we have on this site. Then call us or complete the contact page. We will talk through your stop-smoking issues and advise on the correct therapy for you. We will answer any questions you have. And then, when you’re ready, we will have our Wellingborough hypnotist call you. Get to know them, ask them in detail about how they work. Then, if you are ready, they can give you an appointment, often within a few days.

THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK

Before seeing our Wellingborough hypnotherapist, you might like to read the free sample pages on our website.
Here is a very small taster:

….. You don’t want to stop smoking. You do want to be someone who doesn’t smoke. I know, I’m fussy about words, but that’s something you’re going to have to get used to, because if we don’t call a spade a spade we end up trying to dig the garden with a hoe. Or something.

Giving up, stopping, I could argue it comes to the same thing, going through something you don’t want to go through, losing something you believe in, even though you know you shouldn’t believe in it, so now you’re full of conflict but then drug taking, which, to call that spade by its true name is what we’re talking about here, is full of conflict. The tobacco companies legally sell a product that just doesn’t make any sense, the only product with a death threat printed on the pack that doesn’t stop people buying it. So if anyone knows it’s full of holes, it’s the pushers. They know very well what they’re doing to you and you suspect what they’re doing to you but you’re not completely convinced, which is how they get away with it.

OTHER WELLINGBOUGH STOP SMOKING RESOURCES

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the Wellingborough Borough Council website here.
