Most clients stop in a single session, but a free follow-up is provided within three months in the event that you have a problem. Our Boston hypnotherapist has bookings from Monday to Saturday, and you can also be seen in the evening.

OUR GUARANTEED AFTERCARE SERVICE

When you have seen our Boston hypnotherapist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling..

This gives three years of support. We strongly advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your session. We will talk through how the session went, how you feel right now, and what, if anything, else we need to do.

A STOP-SMOKING TIP

We are often asked is how successful our hypnotherapy is, and it’s a very natural question. There is, though, no simple answer. Phone any Boston hypnotist and ask them how successful they are; the honest answer is that there’s no simple answer. That is what they should say. Why?

Well, because of ethics. Saying how good you are is making a claim. But you cannot prove that claim, in which case it is unethical to make it. We at National Stop Smoking Centres make no such claims, and our Boston hypnotist won’t if you ask them. Instead, this is what they will tell you: There are three things you can do to give yourself the best chance of success.

The first is have the correct therapy. That is going to happen, because unlike independent therapists we offer a range of stop-smoking methods. Whatever method is best for you is one we can provide.

The second is to make sure you see a properly qualified therapist, one who has good smoking cessation experience. That, obviously, is why you come to NSSC.

And finally, something few people think about when looking for stop-smoking therapy. Support. Our Boston hypnotist is very effective, but we’re not talking about them, we’re talking about you. You are human. You have probably stopped smoking before, and started again. So you know things can and do go wrong. Our view of this is that a mistake does NOT mean you have failed. It means we need to help you. That is what is meant by support.

Our AfterCare service is free for a full three years. We won’t mind you calling; in fact we WANT you to call. And we are very good at this. The biggest mistake clients make when they hit a problem is to believe they have failed. Call our AfterCare team, and we will show you how to sort it out. And here is a promise: We will never be judgmental, so don’t be afraid to call.

Why did you persist with smoking?

There’s lots more about this further on in the Handbook but for now the simple answer is that you learned how to smoke, which in medical terms means you switched off your body’s ability to tell that cigarette smoke is poisonous, which is what we call adaptation and you call addiction (but lots more about all that, in detail, I promise you, because you really need to know this stuff), and having done that you simply carried on doing it so you became habituated to smoking and then you became what we call psychologically dependent, which in a nutshell means you learned to believe in smoking as a good thing, which is probably where you are up to now.
