OUR GUARANTEED AFTERCARE SERVICE
When you have seen our Glossop hypnotherapist we will enrol you in our NSSC AfterCare programme. The support that comes with each therapy is different, although in each case it provides access to our unlimited help by telephone counselling..
Glossop Hypnotherapy AfterCare
This gives three years of support. We strongly advise you to call the helpdesk the day after your session. We will talk through how the session went, how you feel right now, and what, if anything, else we need to do.

A STOP-SMOKING TIP
One question we are often asked is how successful our hypnotherapy is. It’s a very natural question to ask. There is, though, no simple answer. First, let’s be clear about something. Phone any Glossop hypnotist and ask them how successful they are; the truthful answer is that there is no answer. That is what they should say. Why is that?
Well, because of ethics. Saying how good you are is making a claim. But you cannot prove that claim, in which case it is unethical to make it. We at National Stop Smoking Centres make no such claims, and our Glossop hypnotist won’t if you ask them. Instead, this is what they will tell you: There are three things you can do to give yourself the best chance of success.
The first is have the correct therapy. That is going to happen, because unlike independent therapists we offer a range of stop-smoking methods. Whatever method is best for you is one we can provide.
The second is to make sure you see a properly qualified therapist, one who has good smoking cessation experience. That, obviously, is why you come to NSSC.
And finally, something few people think about when looking for stop-smoking therapy. Support. Our Glossop hypnotist is very good, but we’re not talking here about them, we’re talking about you. You are human. You have probably stopped smoking before, and started again. So you know things go wrong. Our view of this is that a mistake does NOT mean you have failed. It means we need to help you. That is what we mean by support.
Our AfterCare service is free for three years. We don’t mind you calling; in fact we WANT you to call. It’s why we’re here. And we are very good at this. The biggest mistake clients make when they hit a problem is to believe they have failed. Call our AfterCare team, and we will show you how to sort it out. And here is a promise: We will always be non judgmental. So don’t be afraid to call. We’re on your side.
THE NSCI STOP SMOKING HANDBOOK

Here is a very small taster:
When it became possible to produce ready-made cigarettes in factories, this opened up the market enormously, because now it was possible to sell smoking to poor people at a price they could afford. Before that, poor people died of poverty, but now they were starting to become less poor as a result of a range of social and economic factors, so they could live longer and die of other things instead. Now, they wanted what rich people had, and rich people had cigars. Cigarette means what? It means a small cigar. It’s what you smoke when you can’t buy the real thing, but the very name made it an aspirational thing.
So smoking was a big thing long before we really understood exactly how dangerous it was. Now, when some food is found to have health risks the government bans it instantly. A one in a million chance of catching something? Clear the shelves instantly. No cost is too high to protect the public, even from a small danger like that. BSE? Kill all the cattle. Tobacco causes lung cancer? Sell it in sweetshops.
Yes, it’s a funny old world. Tobacco is so dangerous it must, by law, come with a warning that it’s going to kill you, but the same government that insists on that lets tobacco companies push it to children.

Therapy might not be what you’re looking for. If it isn’t, and you want to take pharmaceutical products to stop smoking, we suggest you see your GP.. You can also visit the NHS Tameside & Glossop website here.
